Video: Tears of Gaza

http://vimeo.com/92980344
An extraordinary, internationally acclaimed documentary about impact of the 2008 Gaza bombings on civilians and children, by filmmaker Vibeke Løkkeberg. After watching news reports from her home in Norway, Løkkeberg attempted to gain access to Gaza to report on events there, but discovered first-hand that international journalists were barred from entering the area. The denial of access further impelled her to report on the story, and she proceeded to gather raw footage from Palestinian cameramen and eye-witnesses living in Gaza who recorded bombings on smart phones. The Difference Between Israeli and Palestinian Children

The children of Gaza who have lived will face hardship most in the West cannot conceive. Many sustained injuries that will burden them their entire lives, like loss of limbs or sight. Others will be cursed with cancer from “Israel’s” use of banned DIME munitions and will likely die young. There are over 1800 children who are now orphans in Gaza. And virtually all will have PTSD and emotional issues from the intense trauma they have experienced, many having lived through three wars already. But not one will forget how Jews in Israel see them, how they danced and sang about children being slaughtered in Gaza, how they gathered on the hilltops to cheer as the bombs and artillery fell, how they were exhilarated at the agony and terror wrought on the children of Gaza. No, they will not forget however much they will want to. Nor will they forgive and they should not.

MANIC FURY-BOMBING & DESTRUCTION OVERNIGHT
It’s not about Hamas, it’s not about tunnels, it’s not even about rockets. It’s about control, domination and hatred. Whatever party was in government, were there no tunnels, and when rockets never flew, “Israel” hate Palestinians in Gaza, al-Quds/Jerusalem and the ‘West Bank.’ It wants control, it wants absolute domination. The furious hatred of Palestinians is because they refuse to submit to that control and accept that Jewish domination, because Palestinians still live, because they refuse to leave. So Palestinians in Palestine are punished on a daily basis: siege/blockade of Gaza, torturous fascism in al-Quds, and belligerent occupation of the ‘West Bank’ along with the creeping illegitimate annexation. “Israel” seek to erase the history in which its Jews were only a tiny part, it destroyed whole towns and villages in historic Palestine, appropriated others, and in Gaza it is doing the same. These are in fact war crimes. Continue reading Residential tower levelled, neighbourhoods erased

Gaza death toll climbs as vicious assault continues

Victims’ names and ages were compiled based on information released by the Gaza health ministry, while the circumstances of the deaths were taken from the ministry and local news sources.

The Ministry of Health has stated that a total of 2069, been killed. We are still awaiting confirmation of some names.

The number includes 553 children, 253 women, and 96 elderly, since July 8, while more than 10310, including 3106 children, 1970 women and 368 elderly, have been injured with some losing limbs and others disabled for life, not to mention those who will die from cancer later on from the banned DIME munitions and potentially DU weapons employed as well. The amount of dead is underestimated as there are many whose bodies have still not been retrieved from the rubble and therefore their names are not listed.

The majority of the wounded are children, according to the Ministry of Health. All of the casualties listed below are victims of Israeli bombs dropped on Gaza since Tuesday July 8th. There is a running list of those murdered here, updated daily. For photos and facts about these real people with real lives, families, hopes and dreams, see humanizepalestine.org

“Day of Rage” across world shows overwhelming support for Gaza

PEOPLE SUPPORT GAZA, DEMAND END TO GENOCIDE
Now the governments of the world have no illusions as to the wishes of the populace they govern. We demand the end to the siege of Gaza, to the genocide, to the occupation of Palestine and full sovereignty. And will not be silent, we will not rest until that occurs. No amount of Jewish pressure and lobbies drown out the sound of our call for Palestinian freedom. We demand the end to “Israeli” impunity, to hold it accountable for its many crimes. Guernica in Gaza

MESS OF WARFARE, DIRTY POLITICS
Everyone knows that one little tiny desert state in the Mediterranean is the client state of the United States. Everyone knows that it is armed to the eyeballs, lavished obscene amounts of the tax-payers money and diplomatically shielded from any and all legal consequences in the fora designed to solve international disputes and hold bad actors accountable. Yes, I mean the Jewish military state. Everyone also knows that the client state has also been shielded from actually having to behave as any other civilised nation would be required to be. Gaza: Were war crimes committed by Israel or not?

SPECULATION BY EVERYONE, EXPERTS WEIGH IN
Gaza - tiny little boy trying to be brave by himselfWhile most people have never heard of the Laws of War, it is an instinctual reaction to recoil in horror from the barbaric and savage attacks “Israel” has wrought upon Gaza. Intentional destruction of civil infrastructure, attacking protected civil facilities such as hospitals, schools, banks and mosques, as well as outright targeting of civilians are obviously objectively and morally wrong, laws or no laws. Every parent who sees the images of dead children, injured and terrified children and ponders how many are now homeless and orphaned cannot help but be moved. But there are laws that govern conduct in wars, and all countries and parties to a conflict (in the case of non-state actors, and in this case of a non-sovereign State of Palestine). Violation of these laws are war crimes. But what to the experts say about “Israel’s” choice of targets and slaughtering of entire families? As the State of Palestine is poised to accede to the Rome Statute and drag “Israel” to the Hague, their insight, knowledge and opinions are timely and informative. DESPITE CEASEFIRE, HUMANITARIAN CRISIS
OCHA 6 Aug Hospital StatusThe first day of the 72-hour cease-fire, which entered into force on 5 August at 08:00, has passed without serious incident, as negotiations continue under Egyptian mediation to reach a more permanent agreement. Markets and shops gradually resumed operating as Gaza residents overcome fears from the experience of previous, short-lived pauses. Municipal workers and service providers are clearing streets and rehabilitating and repairing infrastructure. Many of the displaced have returned to check if their homes are still inhabitable or their contents salvageable. Medical and rescue teams succeeded in reaching previously inaccessible area and to recover the dead from under the rubble. Of growing concern are the thousands of explosive remnants of war which are scattered throughout civilian areas, posing a major threat to children, farmers, IDPs returning home and humanitarian workers Continue reading Gaza: UNOCHA Report 6 August

Gaza: Will this be the final straw or final solution?

HARSH WORD MUST BE FOLLOWED BY ACTIONS
After the “harsh words” of shock and condemnation that Israel, once again, attacked an URWA school (that transmitted its precise coordinates 33 times to “Israel’s” authorities), will there be action? The Secretary-General of the UN called it “another blatant violation of international humanitarian law” which clearly means that the other violations are not only known but recognised. The Secretary-General has the power and authority to refer a case to the International Criminal Court, but will he? Will the Americans veto another Security Council resolution on behalf of their client state? And what about the ‘final solution’ being spouted by Ministers of “Israel’s” parliament for Palestinians in Gaza? In the totality, the world must unite to stop this genocidal, rogue state. Gaza: UNOCHA report 2 August

HUMANITARIAN CRISIS, DIRE
Following yesterday’s collapse of a 72-hour humanitarian cease-fire brokered by the UN and the USA, hostilities intensified. The Rafah area in southern Gaza was subject to the heaviest shelling and fighting recorded since the start of the emergency, as well as the advancement of Israeli forces westwards into the most densely populated areas. According to Israeli media reports, these developments took place in the context of the Israeli army’s attempts to locate a soldier missing in action and reported to have been captured. Gaza: No victory image, only exit image for Israel

FAILURE AT UNACHIEVABLE GOALS
When a government set unachievable goals for a military campaign, it necessarily dooms it to failure. Considering that Israel keep changing the reasons it launched the genocidal campaign against Gaza, and the astounding losses racked during it, there is no happy “victory image” that can be sold to the Jewish public. Too many funerals of Jewish “soldiers,” too many equipment losses and not one military success to be had. This has been stated by myself and others several times, and it has been confirmed in the Israeli Jewish press as well. And the most recent time was yesterday. Gaza: the Laws of War in context

LAW VERSUS PROPAGANDA
It is said that “truth is the first casualty of war.” Every war sees propaganda put out by each party for domestic consumption, enemy consumption (comprising an aspect of psychological warfare), and international consumption, and this recent genocidal project is no different. But noticeably absent from any commentary or news reporting is how the Laws of War are being followed or broken. Accusations without evidence simply constitute propaganda, however, there is ample evidence of violations of the Laws of War in this genocidal war on Gaza that Israel call in Hebrew “Operation Strong Cliff.” Continue reading Gaza: the Laws of War in context

Peace is not an option: on Israel’s doomed fate

PEACE IS DEEPLY FRIGHTENING TO ISRAEL
In fact, peace is terrifying. While that sounds counter-intuitive to everyone else in the world, to the Jews of Israel it makes perfect sense. The status quo ante is fine: ongoing oppression and dispossession of Palestine and its citizens. That is not peace, that is belligerent military occupation, but that is the choice and preferred situation for Israel’s Jews. Not so for Palestinians. For peace to come to both, peace would have to break out, and that is a serious threat to the government of Israel. It was founded in terrorism and war crimes: blood, death, fire and expulsion of Palestinians. It cannot, as structured and as the society is, survive in a peaceful environment or in peace with its other neighbours. It is a military state, and both the national and personal identity is intrinsically tied to its military and military service. The economy is also deeply enmeshed with the military: it is a manufacturer and also tests out its weapons on Palestinians. Peace with Palestine would require a paradigm shift in national and individual consciousness, but a shift it is not willing or able to make. It is doomed, but by its own hand. Israel fears investigation, and it should

EVIDENCE OF WAR CRIMES, CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY
What Israel dreads almost as much as loss of American military and financial support and diplomatic protection is investigation into its acts in Gaza and the ‘West Bank’ of Palestine. There is ample evidence of war crimes such as targeting undefended civilian dwellings and protected facilities (medical and UN schools), using banned weapons such as DIME and flechette shells. And there is also ample evidence of crimes against humanity. Somehow Israel managed to get itself on the Human Rights Council, but it shouldn’t be mistaken that it can derail investigations into its bad acts. Israel to humanitarians: Why don’t you support our genocide in Gaza?

“BUT WE’RE THE VICTIMS HERE!”
Always the victim even, and especially, whilst victimising Others. Sure, almost two thousand have been killed, but there are still almost two million left to kill in Gaza! Sure we keep changing the ostensible reason for making war on the population we have under siege, but we’re the victims here! The psychopathology of the rotting Jewish society in Israel has been exposed several times, but none more clearly than a plea to the humanitarians in the world support its genocide in Gaza. Wiping it off the map: Israel is doing it to Gaza, Palestine

HAS BEEN DOING IT TO ‘WEST BANK’ FOR YEARS
Even Israel’s military and intelligence, the US intelligence community know that Ahmadinejad did not say Iran was going to “wipe Israel off the map” those it has consistently used that intentional mistranslation provided by the Israeli outfit, MEMRI. But the Jewish military state has been wiping the ‘West Bank’ of Palestine off the map for years, and now it attempts to do the same to Gaza, albeit in a different fashion: by levelling it and making it uninhabitable. And it just cannot comprehend why the world doesn’t approve of its attempted genocide. Continue reading Wiping it off the map: Israel is doing it to Gaza, Palestine

Gaza: Death toll skyrockets after recent massacres

These are the names that have been confirmed by medical sources in Gaza. At least 1497 have been killed, and over 8000 have been injured, including children and women, with some losing limbs and others disabled for life.  The number of martyrs (standard term for those killed by Israel) before the Rafah massacre arrived in 1497, of whom 780 were killed inside their homes.

The majority of the wounded are children, according to the Ministry of Health. All of the casualties listed below are victims of Israeli bombs dropped on Gaza since Tuesday July 8th. These are only those who have been confirmed by the Ministry of Health thus far, more will undoubtedly be added later as the bodies are pulled from the rubble, however, not all of those are identifiable. A running list of the dead from this current genocidal war on Gaza is kept here and updated daily.

Limited military achievements, rising costs: Israel fatigued

NOT PREPARED, CANNOT WIN
As has been mentioned several times before, Israel is inherently weak and its weakness is being laid bare before the world. It’s weakness is not only military, but economic as well. And its true ugly face of its rotting, racist and ethno-supremacist society. The “pretty face” mask of Israel is falling away and it’s true ugliness being revealed to the world. The Jews in Israel are angry: at the world for not allowing total genocide and unfettered aggression, at the fact that their military is losing, that their economy is being targeted by boycotts, that they have to “suffer” in their bomb shelters and cannot enjoy the oppression of Palestinians without cost. Those costs are rising daily. And the realities are causing friction between the military part of the government and the political part. • Power is out in 9 Kibbutzim (Communist communities) due to a resistance rocket hitting a power station
  • [And now the Jews in Israel will feel a fraction of the pain Gazans feel, with 5 days of no power, and 1 year needed just to repair the power station.]
  • al-Qassam has captured a “soldier” when he left his tank at Mt. Sourani.
